Anytime....Anywhere

Travis Bickle's(Robert DeNiro) background reveals him to be a Vietnam War era veteran with a limited education. His cure for insomnia is to become a taxi driver, getting paid for his sleeplessness. Keeping awake at night while on patrol in Vietnam carries over into civilian life. Two months before his discharge date in May 1973, the last U.S. ground forces left Vietnam, and the month of Bickle's discharge, Congress began investigation of rumors of a Republican involvement in the break-in of Watergate. Travis's combat experience prepares him to accept any fares and dispatches into dangerous routes, "Anytime.....anywhere"
